A brilliant opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with Department of Education (DfE) experience looking to advance your career with this Tier 1 contractor delivering new build, design and build and refurbishment solutions to both the public and private sector throughout the South-East.
About the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor
* You will manage the commercial resources of the assigned project to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts.
* To assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement our clients policies for risk management.
* To support the authorisation and submission of project variations.
* To authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders.
* To maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers.
The responsibilities of a Senior Quantity Surveyor
* Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Help ensure that business targets and KPI's are exceeded
* Preparation of monthly cost / value reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
* Production of commercial reports together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
* Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors
* Agreement of certification and payment of subcontractor accounts - monitoring of such accounts against forecasts
Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor
* BSc or HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying preferred
* Ability to work on site where necessary
* Awareness and experience of construction methods, technology, standard forms of measurement and forms of contract, and health and safety requirements
