HR Business Partner (12-18-Month Fixed Term Contract)
Location: Wellingborough (with regular travel to Holbeach, Peterborough, and Maldon)
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Contract: 12-18-month fixed term
About the Role:
As an HR Business Partner, you will work closely with our operational leaders, bringing a people-focused perspective to strategic decision-making. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll provide thoughtful and pragmatic guidance across the full spectrum of HR, from organisational development and workforce planning to talent management, performance, and employee relations.
You’ll play a key role in shaping a positive and inclusive workplace culture where colleagues feel valued, supported, and able to thrive. Through coaching and partnership, you’ll empower leaders to build capability, lead with confidence, and deliver strong people outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build strong, trusted relationships with the Operations Leadership Team to align people strategy with business needs
* Support organisational design, workforce planning, and change initiatives
* Lead talent processes including succession planning and capability development
* Partner with Learning & Development to deliver impactful training solutions
* Foster an engaging, inclusive culture focused on wellbeing and continuous improvement
* Manage complex employee relations cases, including those at Employment Tribunal level
* Support industrial relations, including union engagement and negotiations
* Guide fair and consistent approaches to performance, pay, and recognition
* Use data and insights to inform decision-making and drive productivity
* Ensure HR policies are applied consistently, compliantly, and with integrity
* Collaborate with the wider HR team as part of a connected UK-wide community
What We’re Looking For:
* Strong HR generalist experience
* Background in operational, manufacturing, or distribution environments
* Experience working with both unionised and non-unionised workforces, including legacy agreements
* Proven ability to lead complex employee relations cases up to Employment Tribunal
* Skilled in collective consultation and negotiation around working practices
* Broad experience supporting leaders across talent, inclusion, engagement, wellbeing, and communication
* Experience supporting customer and third-party audits
* Willingness and ability to travel across regional and UK sites
* Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
* CIPD qualified (or equivalent); degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred
