Job Description Summary GE Vernova are looking for a motivated and experienced Electronic Component Engineer, reporting to the HW Functional Manager for Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D), within Grid Automation (GA). The M&D product line is a class leading vendor of sensing devices and systems to Electrical Utilities and Industrial customers. The product line spans sensing of multiple asset types and has a broad portfolio of advanced technology, which aid customers to understand and optimise the operating condition of key assets such as HV/MV power transformers and circuit breakers. The Electronic Component Engineer will support engineering and the wider supply chain to resolve supply issues and component obsolescence. Mostly working with electronic components, the role will also include dealing with electro-mechanical and mechanical parts. The Electronic Component Engineer will work closely with the Engineering team and will be core to selecting viable and alternate components for all product lines. Additionally, the Electronic Component Engineer will work closely with Sourcing and Manufacturing teams to maintain production stability. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities: Liaising with all CMs, ensuring all shortages and obsolescence are addressed quickly and efficiently. Drive into production any BOM updates required using GE ECO methods. Highlight to management any issues with critical componentry to allow planned responses. Work with Project team to select alternate components as required. Support engineering teams (NPI & Sustain) to select suitable components and alternates which are not NRND, LTB or OBS Work with NPI teams to maintain 25% or less sole source componentry. Support the GA Component strategy team ensure supply of M&D critical components are not exposed to any geopolitical threats. Support the PFAS program in component selection/alternates. Essential Requirements: Degree or equivalent (HND with experience) in electrical /electronic engineering. Proven experience in reading and understand schematic diagrams. Proven experience in a similar role with cross functional involvement. Understanding of the critical characteristics of various component types. Excellent communication skills, as this role involves significant involvement with non-engineers. Experience in using complex spreadsheets. Desirable Requirements: Experience working with Altium Designer to Generate manufacturing outputs/schematics & PCBs. Previous experience in Electrical/Electronic engineering design and development.
