The Specialist Digital Pharmacist will work as part of the Digital Pharmacy Team supporting the Joint Lead Pharmacy Information Officer in a multidisciplinary team tasked with implementing the Joint Oracle EPR (JEPR) system and supporting its implementation across the JEPR network that will exist between University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW), George Eliot NHS Trust (GEH) and South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT).
Main duties of the job
* To support the implementation team in the EPMA component of roll out of JEPR.
* To deliver when needed specialist training and teaching sessions to the ward-based team, checking understanding and adapting training methods where necessary.
* The post holder will support staff who are distressed or who challenge the changes to service as a result of JEPR.
* To utilise observational and verbal communication skills with all stakeholders, to contribute to the benefits measurement process and to design best practice.
* To participate in process mapping days and use professional experience and knowledge of medicines management standards to support the design of clinical practice in all aspects of medicines management to inform configuration of the software and ways of working.
* To plan training sessions for ward staff within specified time frames and to deadlines.
* To undertake routine duties within the dispensary as required, supervising the work of junior pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and (senior) ATOs.

Job responsibilities
* To carry out pharmaceutical technical duties in specified areas of the pharmacy department under the overall direction of the Lead Pharmacy Technician and the Chief Pharmacist.
* To provide a safe, efficient and comprehensive high quality pharmaceutical service, under the direction of Lead Pharmacy Technician, to patients and staff of George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust.
* To undertake training and accreditation in technical skills and knowledge as identified and agreed with Lead Pharmacy Technician and the Chief Pharmacist.
* To manage work of junior Technicians and others, when deputing for Lead Pharmacy Technicians.
* To contribute to the late night, weekend, Bank Holiday and Statutory Day working rota.

Person Specification
Experience and Knowledge
* Broad experience of delivery of pharmaceutical care in hospital pharmacy
* Fluent IT user and use of databases
* Problem solving
* Training of staff
* Triage of errors and faults in IT hardware and software
* Using data sources to produce reports for a variety of requestors
* Writing and validation of adhoc reports using various reporting tools (e.g. Crystal/SQL/PowerBI)
Qualifications and Training
* NVQ 3 or equivalent registered Pharmacy Technician or knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures acquired through training in equivalent pharmaceutical science and recent relevant work experience
* Demonstrate continuing professional developments to meet statutory requirements
* Professional registration with the GPhC and minimum of 1 year's post qualification experience
* Formal mentoring, coaching or preceptorship training
Skills and Abilities
* Understanding of how Hospital Pharmacy IT systems operate
* Familiarity with Pharmacy stock control software using Pharmacy systems management software, ideally CMM (JAC / Wellsky)
* Familiarity with EPMA / EPR
* Implementing and developing clinical pharmacy services within an EPR / EPMA system
* Pharmacy Robotics including electronic drug storage solutions
