Purpose of the role
To work closely with other team members in producing concrete in a safe, clean environment and to ensure the best possible customer service is always achieved. To be responsible for the first impression regarding the cleanliness of the yard, plant, and facilities.
Key Accountabilities
1. To liaise with the Order Office, plant staff, and Customers to ensure that the production of concrete/mortar meets customer requirements and to give optimum output, quality, and standards in accordance with the Procedures Manual, Working Instructions, and Technical Instructions.
2. To regularly inspect, carry out, and ensure that plant routine maintenance is adhered to, and that the cleanliness of the plant, plant area, buildings, equipment, and facilities are maintained in accordance with standing instructions.
3. To ensure that all waste disposals, water discharges, and dust emissions are dealt with according to the Environmental Procedures.
4. To ensure sufficient materials are available to meet production demands.
5. To inspect incoming materials and carry out weekly visual stock checks.
6. To ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors follow relevant safety instructions.
7. To appraise and review work methods and plant utilization to optimize use of plant, equipment, and materials.
8. To comply with all aspects of the Restrictive Trade Practices Act, with communication to be issued shortly.
9. To ensure operations are performed in accordance with Group and Regional instructions and procedures, preventing fraudulent activities.
10. To comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and observe the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation.
11. To update knowledge and attend training courses as required.
12. To adhere to Personnel Policies and Procedures.
13. To perform other relevant duties as requested by Management.
14. To operate the batching plant and FEL to company standards, improving and maintaining site presentation.
15. To maintain cleanliness throughout the site and facilities.
16. To accurately batch concrete/mortar when trained.
17. To ensure the plant is stocked with approved materials, visually checking stocks daily and verifying monthly with the supervisor.
18. To carry out routine maintenance and defect inspections, recording actions accordingly.
19. To report defects or occurrences that may jeopardize health & safety, environment, product quality, or service.
20. To ensure full compliance with policies on health & safety, environment, quality control, and fraud prevention.
