Job Title: Workshop Supervisor
Reporting to: Depot Workshop Manager
Summary of the role's main purpose:
* Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, servicing and repair of our fleet of refrigerated vehicles.
* Supervise and support a small team of mechanics, while also carrying out mechanical duties yourself.
* Support the development of the Mechanical Apprenticeship Programme.
* Present vehicles for annual MOT Inspection
* Ensure a high standard to H&S are being followed and correct practices are being followed at all times
* Cover workshop managers duties during absences
* Out of hours support – Fully equipped van is supplied
.Principal Accountabilities
* To assist in minimising off-road time for all vehicles and compliance to O-Licence regulations.
* To notify the office of vehicle damage.
* To handle and process customer defects and breakdowns
* To ensure that all service and inspection documentation is correctly completed
* To work within and implement a policy of "Preventative Maintenance"
* Procurement of parts
* Production and updating of workshop and VOR reports on a daily basis
* Ad-Hoc duties as required
* To help control the maintenance spend
* Delegate work to the technicians including Mobile techs when required
Core Areas of Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
* City & Guilds level 3 equivalent in HGV repairs & maintenance
* Strong knowledge of the "Guide to maintaining roadworthiness"
* Effective verbal and written skills, coupled with strong decision making and problem solving.
* HGV C E Licence
* Full UK driving licence
* Understanding of vehicle compliance
* Proof of your right to work in UK
Desirable
* IRETEC
* Knowledge of transportation and logistics industry
* Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft office
