Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
My Client is a leading Research Chemicals Supplier with stock locations in the UK and USA, serving customers across Europe, the USA, and worldwide. They pride themselves on being a socially responsible partner supporting scientific discovery on a global scale. As they expand and prepare to launch their first overseas entity this year, they’re looking for a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join their growing team in Manchester.
Role Overview
As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient warehouse operations. You will be responsible for stock control, order processing, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for candidates looking to develop their skills within a dynamic and expanding company.
Key Responsibilities
* Stock Control
* Receive goods and accurately enter details into the ERP system.
* Maintain stock in designated locations with full batch control and traceability.
* File goods receipts and ensure compliance with quality procedures.
* Conduct stock checks and inventory management using company systems.
* Maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment in line with health and safety policies.
* Goods Out
* Pick and package stock items accurately according to customer orders.
* Ensure all orders are packaged safely for dispatch.
* Liaise with third-party carriers and manage local deliveries as required.
General Duties
* Maintain accurate records and perform stock transfers.
* Repackage chemicals and dispense products correctly.
* Work towards KPIs and company objectives.
* Follow all quality standards, safety procedures, and company policies.
* Apply good housekeeping practices and adhere to 5S principles (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardise, Sustain).
* Participate in training and contribute ideas to improve warehouse processes.
What We’re Looking For
* Good numeracy and literacy skills.
* Previous experience handling chemicals preferred.
* Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Forklift Truck Licence (desirable).
* IATA / DGN accreditation (essential).
* Fire Warden and First Aid training (desirable).
* Good English communication skills.
