Why join our team?

We’re seeking an experienced, people-focused Labour Deployment Planning Manager to lead workforce deployment at our manufacturing site. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will work with the Supply Chain team and other departments to ensure effective planning, training, and deployment of over 300 employees to meet operational needs 24/7. You will coordinate people and systems to deliver against the supply plan and meet customer demands.

This role requires close collaboration with HR, L&D, Operational Planning, Manufacturing, Technical, Engineering, and Finance teams. Strong knowledge of SAP and understanding of Supply Chain Systems are essential.


Key responsibilities

The main focus areas include:

* Balancing labour skills and numbers across shifts and job grades.
* Maintaining the labour deployment system to achieve 90% accuracy against the production plan.
* Supporting delivery of supply chain metrics like Conformance to Plan (CTP) and Internal Service Level (ISL).
* Managing staff skills and training to ensure balanced production lines and teams.
* Improving labour systems and workflows continuously.


Key deliverables

Supporting the success of the Supply Chain Team and Manchester site:

* Achieving budget, KPI, and working capital targets, while communicating capacity constraints effectively.
* Managing a small team, fostering collaboration, and providing coaching.
* Developing understanding of supply chain systems and contributing to strategic projects.


Systems and processes

* Deep knowledge of site processes, interpreting system data for production planning, and acting as a superuser for labour management tools like SharePoint, Power BI/PowerApps.
* Driving digital transformation and delivering analytical reports to leadership.


Labour management

* Collaborating across departments to maintain accurate labour data and achieve 90% auto-deployment.
* Championing labour management processes, training staff, and planning shifts to meet targets.


Training

* Managing training budgets, maintaining documentation, and supporting training activities.
* Ensuring timely training completion and supporting labours’ needs for critical training sessions.


Experience required

Essential:

* Strong background in labour planning, material resource planning, or supply planning.
* Experience managing or leading teams in fast-paced environments.
* Proficiency in SAP and Excel, with strong analytical skills.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting to senior leadership and managing complex workloads.

Desirable:

* Knowledge of payroll, food hygiene standards, and allergen awareness.
* Experience with Power BI and Power Apps.
* Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related fields.


Interview process

* First stage: 45-minute competency-based interview.
* Second stage: 60-minute technical interview or case study.

Note: Psychometric and aptitude tests may be part of the process.
