Overview
Monarch Education is recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 in our partner primary schools in Derby. Whether you're an experienced classroom assistant or looking to transition into education from a care, coaching, or support background, we want to hear from you.
This role offers flexibility, variety, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in children's learning and development. You'll work 1:1 and in small groups, supporting pupils with a range of needs including SEND.
What You'll Be Doing
* Supporting pupils in class and during interventions
* Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
* Encouraging pupil engagement and emotional regulation
* Delivering tailored support for children with additional needs
* Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
* Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people (in education, care, coaching, or support roles)
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* A calm, patient, and proactive approach
* Understanding of EYFS, KS1 or KS2 curriculum (desirable)
* Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential)
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

Responsibilities
* Supporting the teaching staff to implement the KS1 and KS2 curriculum
* Providing booster and intervention sessions to raise standards within the classroom
* Working with a child's strengths and weaknesses to support their development and progress
* Building a good rapport with teachers and children alike
* Helping to create a stimulating and motivating environment for children
