Third in Charge – Up to £35,000 – 40 Hours per week

This Third in Charge role sits at the heart of a well-established nursery rated Good by Ofsted. You'll work closely with the Nursery Manager and Deputy, combining hands-on room leadership with wider responsibility for day-to-day operations and standards across the setting.

The nursery is based in a beautiful, purpose-designed nursery with a private garden and Forest School, creating a lively, engaging learning environment that balances structure with a warm, homely feel.

Before You Apply

* This role requires recent experience as a room leader or Third in Charge (or above) in an Early Years setting.
* You must hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.

* Salary: Up to £35,000 per year (depending on experience)
* Hours: 40 hours per week, full time
* Contract: Permanent
* Setting: Early Years nursery (3 months to 5 years)

What You'll Need

* Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
* Recent experience as a room leader, Third in Charge, or higher
* Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements
* Confidence making operational decisions and leading staff

What You'll Do

* Support the Manager and Deputy in the day-to-day running of the nursery
* Lead a room while maintaining oversight of practice across the setting
* Ensure safeguarding, EYFS, and Ofsted requirements are met at all times
* Act as a senior decision-maker in the absence of the Manager or Deputy
* Support staff performance, ratios, and daily organisation
* Maintain a safe, engaging learning environment for children and staff
