Behaviour Mentor – Primary School (Permanent, Full‑time)
Location: Leeds (LS9). Salary: £22,000 – £23,000 per annum.
Job type: Full‑time, Term Time (additional days may be required). Start date: ASAP.
About the role
NextGen Teachers are recruiting a Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Leeds (LS9) on a full‑time, permanent basis. This role supports Key Stage 2 pupils who require additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation and learning. The Behaviour Mentor will help create a positive, structured environment for pupils to thrive.
Key responsibilities
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for KS2 pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs.
* Implement behaviour management strategies and support plans.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress.
* Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCo and pastoral teams.
* Support pupils in developing social skills and emotional resilience.
* Monitor behaviour, track progress and contribute to reports and reviews.
* Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and experience
* Recent experience working with KS2 pupils in a professional setting.
* Proven experience supporting children with challenging behaviour, SEN and/or SEMH needs.
* Calm, patient and resilient approach.
* Strong behaviour management skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Passionate about making a difference in children’s lives.
* Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
