Initial salary between £34581 and £41673 per annum (plus cost of living award)

To help us achieve these aims we are looking for a passionate, motivated and skilled Empty Property Officer to develop and deliver an ambitious Empty Property Strategy and support the regeneration of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in tackling long-term vacant properties, supporting our Pride in Place programme, and contributing to the Borough’s 10-Year Vision and Masterplan.
You will take the lead in identifying, investigating, and resolving empty property cases. You will work closely with property owners, internal teams, and external partners to return homes and commercial buildings to productive use.
You will use a wide range of approaches—from advice and incentives to formal enforcement action—helping to improve housing supply, enhance neighbourhoods, and support economic regeneration.
You will have a relevant qualification to HND level or above and at least two years’ experience in housing inspection and enforcement, with a sound knowledge of housing legislation and HHSRS. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, along with confidence working sensitively in complex and sometimes challenging situations. A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is required. This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
