Greater Manchester Indian Student Alliance (GMISA) is an independent, student-led organisation based in Greater Manchester, UK. We are dedicated to supporting Indian students across universities in Manchester, including the University of Bolton, University of Salford, MMU, RNCM, and others. Our mission is to build a strong, inclusive network that connects Indian students with alumni, local communities, and academic institutions. GMISA aims to enhance the student experience through cultural engagement, peer support, and collaborative opportunities.
Commitment: Part-time, flexible hours
Role Description
We are seeking enthusiastic Indian Student Ambassadors to represent GMISA across Greater Manchester universities. As a Student Ambassador, you will play a key role in building community, supporting fellow students, and promoting GMISA’s events and initiatives on campus.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as a point of contact for Indian students on your campus
* Organise and support cultural, academic, and social events
* Build relationships with students, alumni, and university societies
* Promote GMISA initiatives via social media and word of mouth
* Represent GMISA in student forums and university-led activities
* Share regular updates and feedback with the GMISA team
Qualifications:
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Confident in public speaking and event coordination
* Familiarity with Instagram, WhatsApp, and other student-focused platforms
* Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively
* Previous involvement in student societies or community groups is a plus
* Must be currently enrolled at or recently graduated from a UK university in Greater Manchester
