Health & Safety Manager
Up to £50,000
Cambridgeshire

We're working exclusively with a growing food manufacturer that's going places and fast. With expanding leadership team that genuinely values doing things the right way, they're now looking for someone to take the lead on Health & Safety across the business and drive this function forward.

This isn't one of those tick-box H&S roles. It's hands-on, collaborative, and right at the heart of operations. You'll be working closely with the Factory Manager and senior team to make sure high standards are not only met - but raised. You'll need to be away from the desk, out on the shopfloor making things happen.

What's the role all about?
You'll be the go-to for all things Health & Safety across manufacturing sites. From reviewing systems and leading audits to coaching teams and rolling out training, you'll help embed a positive, proactive safety culture from the shop floor up.

It's a standalone role - no direct reports - but a real opportunity to put your stamp on how H&S is run in a growing, fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing:

Leading the charge on H&S across both sites - visible, accessible, and influential.

Supporting and advising senior leaders while working closely with teams on the ground.

Carrying out audits, inspections, risk assessments, and investigations - then making things better.

Delivering training and toolbox talks that people actually pay attention to.

Keeping documentation sharp and compliance watertight.

Spotting trends, solving problems, and helping the business stay one step ahead.

Working with external bodies and representing the sites with confidence and credibility.

Ultimately - helping build a culture where safety is part of how things are done, not an afterthought.

What we're looking for:

Someone who's done this before in a manufacturing environment (food would be ideal).

A confident communicator who can hold their own with managers and frontline teams alike.

Someone who knows the regs inside out - and more importantly, how to make them work in practice.

Self-driven, organised, and able to juggle the demands of a two-site setup.

You'll need:

NEBOSH General Certificate (must-have)

Solid experience in a manufacturing H&S role

Confidence using Microsoft Office and H&S systems

Experience delivering safety briefings/toolbox talks
