Mid-Senior UX Designer
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Mid-Senior UX Designer to support our Experience Department on upcoming, ambitious B2B website projects.

About the role

This role is about shaping clear, confident experiences from the ground up, helping clients make sense of complexity, guiding users through long decision journeys, and creating structures that support both user needs and commercial goals.

You'll work closely with strategy, UI, and development, getting involved early and helping turn insight, intent, and ideas into experiences that are purposeful, usable, and built to perform.

The work

You'll support UX across a mix of ambitious B2B projects, including:

➔ Full website rebuilds and redesign projects

➔ UX audits and heuristic reviews

➔ Retainer-based UX support, CRO work, and mini audits

➔ Landing page UX and end-to-end journey design

➔ Intelligent experience strategy and UX definition

➔ Large, content-rich B2B websites with multiple audiences

➔ Conversion-focused journeys working alongside SEO and Paid teams.

What you'll bring to the role

You're an experienced UX designer with a strong background in B2B digital experiences.

You're comfortable balancing user needs with commercial goals, shaping clear journeys and page intent that support long decision cycles, multiple stakeholders, and trust-led decision making.

You stay close to UX trends and emerging technology, with a genuine interest in how AI and future-facing tools can support smarter workflows and more intelligent digital experiences.

You're curious, thoughtful, and pragmatic in how you apply new ideas.

You're confident leading focused, design-led discovery, from stakeholder
conversations through to discovery sessions, and know how to move smoothly from insight into design.

You're highly capable in defining sitemaps and information architecture for complex,
content-rich websites, designing navigation, hierarchy, and structure that make sense
across multiple audiences.

You create clear, purposeful wireframes and flows in Figma, using it as your core
design and prototyping tool to communicate intent and guide both UI design and build.

You understand how UX supports conversion in B2B contexts, designing experiences
that build credibility, reduce friction, and guide users through complex journeys.

You enjoy working closely with strategy, UI designers and developers, designing UX
that translates cleanly into buildable solutions.

You design with accessibility in mind from the start, with a solid understanding of
WCAG AA standards, and you're a clear, confident communicator who's comfortable
presenting work and working at pace.

You're comfortable working in agency environments and understand the realities of
time allocation, budget, and delivery. You adapt your approach to suit each project
while keeping quality high and work moving forward.

Experience we're excited about
➔ Strong UX portfolio with website and digital product work.
➔ Experience designing for WordPress sites. Bonus experience with Webflow, Shopify or headless CMS setups.)
➔ Experience designing or contributing to intelligent digital experiences.

development with big ambitions and high standards. We're always innovating, pushing boundaries, and working closely together to make work that's thoughtful, scalable, and well-crafted. We take the work seriously, not ourselves, and we care deeply about strong design systems, smooth delivery, and doing great work for our clients.

About Hallam
We're not just some self-obsessed agency promising table tennis and unlimited snacks in exchange for your soul. And that's why we'll always show up with something to say, not just something to sell.

business in a better way: to work hard to do the right things, not only for our clients but our people and the world around us.

Work should exist to make life better and we are a great place to work. Hallam has
been chosen by its employees as one of the best places to work, and in the top 40

What's it like working with Hallam?
You'll get to work for a progressive agency that is driven by its people and values, not just profit. We'll set you off on your personalised freelance onboarding program where you'll get to know us; your point of contact and the experience team as well as how we do things around here through our proven design operations and processes.

We highly encourage applicants from under-represented ethnic groups and LGBTQ communities. Throughout the recruitment process, we will strive to make interviews as diverse and gender-balanced as possible for impartiality.
