About the Team
Our Business Support Service is a centralised unit that delivers a coordinated, consistent, and high‑quality service supporting delivery across the organisation. You will work with over 400 colleagues to ensure departments can deliver critical services to residents of Hertfordshire.
About the Role
The Executive Support Team Leader will:
* Oversee and coordinate executive support for the Community Protection Management Board, including line‑managing a team of five Executive Support Officers.
* Work closely with the CP Board and senior managers to deliver effective and efficient support aligned with the priorities of the Community Protection directorate.
* Manage responses to complaints and FOI requests for the CP Directorate.
* Collaborate with the Business Support Hub Manager to plan and align support, setting standards and ways of working to drive consistency and quality.
* Plan and deliver on a range of projects and activities.
* Manage diverse workloads with multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
* Challenge existing practices, champion change and act as a role model for managers and colleagues.
* Oversee use of complex systems and processes, coaching others to use them effectively.
Essential Qualifications
* Degree qualified (or vocational equivalent) with significant experience in a similar role or progressive relevant roles.
* Previous line‑management experience.
* Extensive experience in an administrative or support role with strong business support knowledge.
* Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines with high accuracy in written correspondence.
* Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities across audiences.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
* Teamwork experience in a fast‑paced environment.
* Ability to plan work priorities for both short‑term and longer‑term durations.
* Enthusiasm and pride in your work.
* Experience in taking minutes and note‑taking.
* Experience in research and recommendation reports.
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience delivering training.
* Experience dealing with complaints and FOI requests.
* Understanding of HR policies and procedures.
* Experience in project planning and delivery.
* Change management experience.
