To coordinate timely production planning to ensure the assembly of equipment/machinery is maintained according to schedule, aligning with customer requirements to achieve high standards of on-time delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
* Maintain and update the production schedule based on the latest production status.
* Review and expedite material shortages with the purchasing team and escalate issues when necessary.
* Coordinate material delivery to assembly teams from stores.
* Coordinate delivery of just-in-time (JIT) parts from suppliers to assembly teams.
* Provide quick resolution to shop floor issues related to material shortages, quality defects, and revision control.
* Liaise with shop floor assembly teams, order coordinators, purchasing, suppliers, logistics, and other members of the Operations Team to support high customer service standards.
* Coordinate with subcontract suppliers to ensure work progresses according to the master schedule.
* Arrange for repair or rework of damaged or faulty items.
* Monitor and control production costs in real-time, ensuring all material transactions are accurately recorded and returns processed before production completion.
* Coordinate final machine shipping with sales.
* Communicate schedule changes through appropriate channels.
* Maintain and report on KPIs monthly.
* Collaborate with Production Planning and Purchasing on the consumption of slow-moving, aged, and obsolete stock.
* Minimize overstock and manage obsolete parts through revision control.
* Increase stock turnover without stockouts on critical items.
* Responsible for loading material forecast data.
* Work with other planners on high-risk items.
* Generate reports and provide routine inventory performance information.
* Update stock records and manage inventory needs.
* Compile inventory and usage reports as needed.
What skills are we looking for?
Successful candidates will have previous experience in material planning, production planning, or production control within a manufacturing environment. You should have knowledge of demand planning & MRP/ERP systems, understand complex bill of material structures, and be able to read technical drawings. Strong IT skills are essential.
You should have high attention to detail, be a team player with a passion for problem-solving, possess a strong and organized work ethic, and be process-driven.
