The Warehouse Stock Controller Role Based at our Heywood site, we are recruiting an experienced Warehouse Stock Controller to manage stock across three business departments. You'll play a key role in the stock accuracy of the warehouse. Working closely with our warehouse team, you'll implement efficient inventory practices, you will also be involved with staff training, including implementing procedures and processes, and working with a real-time warehouse management system. While this is primarily a stock control role, you will occasionally support in the warehouse to provide cover when needed. Warehouse Stock Controller - Key Responsibilities Oversee inventory control, including cycle counts and stock takes Stock location allocation, movements, tracking and adjustments Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly Maintain effective stock control processes and handle customer and supplier returns Support receiving and dispatch functions Take ownership of stock for assigned departments, focusing on stock availability and use of space Understand product characteristics including volume and pallet configurations Build strong interdepartmental relationships with procurement, logistics, and sales Use controls and KPIs to monitor performance and drive improvements Staff training, including implementing procedures and processes, working closely with the warehouse team, providing guidance and support to help them with inventory related issues Using a warehouse management system, optimising efficiency and maintaining accuracy Provide hands-on warehouse support, including picking, loading, and unloading when required What We're Looking For We're seeking an experienced, proactive, and adaptable stock control professional who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment. You'll need to be numerically strong, detail-oriented, and confident managing complex inventory across varied product groups and departments.
