Actuarial Specialist - Salary of up to £65,000
Location - York or Bristol
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved in a wide variety of work whilst making a real difference for the customers of the UK’s largest insurer.
You will be responsible for reviewing and delivering timely and accurate calculations for both individual policies and products affected by system changes.
You will be accountable for ensuring the correct method and calculations are used when providing values to other internal teams within Aviva. You will need to decide if the information presented to you is sufficient and calculations are accurate.
To be effective you will need to learn fast and become familiar with many products and calculation methods, delivering work that has strong governance and controls.
Communication is key:
1. with the team, both onshore and offshore to ensure correct processes/calculations are being followed and monitor progress to ensure successful delivery.
2. with our stakeholders in With-profit Governance, the With-Profit Actuary and third-party admin contacts.
3. with other Aviva teams involved in wider projects to drive forward and deliver the required outcomes.
You will need to be able to plan effectively to manage short-term deliverables, such as individual policy queries, alongside progressing longer-term deliverables, such as updates to calculation tools, process developments and projects.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
4. A wide range of product knowledge and experience, including an understanding of WP business.
5. Strong analytical and Microsoft Excel skills.
6. Ability to manage and prioritise workload with business objectives.
7. Strong communication skills.
8. Qualified actuary or equivalent by suitable experience.

9. Salary up to £65k (depending on skills, experience and qualifications).
