Overview
Permanent Full Time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday, with occasional out of hours work and occasional weekends/evenings. Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel, supporting older people for over 120 years. Redcotis is a residential care home on the outskirts of Haslemere, Surrey, focusing on helping older people live fulfilled lives whether through longer residential stays or short-term respite.
Responsibilities
* Work alongside the management team and be responsible for the day-to-day running of the care home
* Provide leadership and line management to the care home team
* Drive continuous improvement through effective monitoring and proactive management
* Deliver financial sustainability for the home
* Ensure residents receive safe, effective and personalised care that enables them to live fulfilling lives
* Lead a culture of collaboration and openness and embed safeguarding and best practice across the home
* Meet all regulatory requirements and uphold the charity’s values of respect, equality, diversity and inclusion
* Champion staff wellbeing and ensure it runs through everything the home does
To be successful you’ll need to have
* NVQ 4 or 5 / QCF 5 in Health & Social Care or working towards
* Experience complying with care and other regulatory frameworks
* Ability to communicate and liaise with representatives of health and social care organisations and local/national government bodies
* Good performance management and reporting skills
* Excellent care provision experience (care homes with and without nursing, care for people living with dementia, etc.)
* Good communication skills — verbal, written, listening and questioning
* Strong understanding of adult safeguarding and related issues
* Knowledge of HR policies and processes
* Strong understanding of Health and Social Care Act and CQC regulations
* Understanding of the principles of person-centred care and conditions affecting people in later life, including dementia
