POSITION OVERVIEW
Are you ready to take your technical expertise to the next level? In this role, you will specialize in LMR (Land, Mobile & Radio) security systems, focusing on RF design, system configuration, complex troubleshooting, and optimization. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the technical integrity and performance of LMR solutions from design to deployment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a Project Engineer providing embedded design services, your responsibilities will include:
* Design and Documentation
o Create comprehensive and accurate design packages, including floor plans, schematic diagrams, and detailed installation instructions.
o Ensure all designs meet client standards and comply with building codes and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles.
o Review design calculations and coordinate lighting requirements.
o Complete necessary programming forms for system commissioning.
o Participate in review meetings to integrate feedback and adapt designs for unique site conditions.
* Installation and Coordination
o Develop a detailed construction schedule for security activities and lead coordination meetings.
o Act as the main point of contact for coordinating security requirements with major trades.
o Ensure all equipment and materials are procured and installed according to design specifications.
o Obtain necessary permits and licenses, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
o Oversee installation quality and maintain good housekeeping practices.
o Protect Security Systems and property throughout the project lifecycle.
* Project Closeout
o Coordinate system programming and oversee pre-installation sign-offs.
o Demonstrate all systems for final acceptance.
o Prepare and submit final operation and maintenance manuals and as-built documents.
o Provide training for security, facility, and technical staff as needed.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
* RF design/software certification (e.g., iBwave or similar), Level 2 or higher.
* Experience in radio operations deployment.
* 3–5 years of experience in a technical design position.
* Familiarity with analogue, digital (e.g., P25, DMR, TETRA), and DAS system design.
DESIRED CRITERIA
* Proficiency in AutoCAD.
* Experience with BIM365.
* Familiarity with BLUEBEAM.
