Here’s how: The Performance and Insight team exists to provide greater understanding of our operational performance, improve the accuracy and accessibility of data, and adapt quickly to our changing operational and technical environment. We handle complex and challenging issues and projects, embed a culture of continuous improvement, and enable the business’ strategic transformation. Through great Data Governance we make it easier to find and understand our performance data by implementing great data governance ensuring that data is managed systematically so it can be used efficiently, securely and is accessible to those who need it. Easier to understand performance and workflow data - we create simple to understand MI against a set of visual standards, we work with each part of our business to educate our teams on how to spend the least amount of time finding the data vs investing their time in making the right decisions based on what the data tell us Understanding the work - we have a complex business and we architect MI to bring to light how we perform end-to-end showing what are the key drivers of work and where bottlenecks exist in the system. This role in a nutshell: As an Analytics Manager (Workflow) you’ll be leading a team of Analysts, Senior Analysts and Analytics Engineers within the Performance and Insight function. You will be the crucial link between business strategy and data execution, defining the vision for our MI ecosystem. Your primary focus will be on architecting reliable MI solutions to understand the flow of work across the OVO Operations teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation, and partnering with senior business leaders to maximise the strategic value derived from our data and insights. You will drive the development of your team and elevate OVO’s overall analytical capability. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a major, progressive utilities business building up a network of allies to identify the gold standards in our data and truly understand cause and effect. A chance to take a proactive role on improving the ways we work with and ingest data within Operations, within this role you will get to marry your skills in analytics and data management to drive solutions to our biggest data and operational challenges, delivering insight that moves the business forwards, creating best in class service for our customers. Your key outcomes will be: Business Partnering to Create Future Value from Insight Workflow Management: Be able to tell a connected story of workflow across OVO, joining together complex independent processes that tell the story of our customer journeys. Demand Planning: Understand the business needs for future reporting through weekly stakeholder meetings and ad-hoc events such as Hackathons. Strategic Roadmap: Create and share roadmaps of planned design and delivery work of new MI reporting and dashboards against a System of MI for each functional area. End-to-End View: Connect all partner functions' MI within the end-to-end view to clearly show cause and effect for regular data. Actionable Insight: Articulate the demand and potential solutions from partnering as a key input into improvement activities such as goal-mapping and PI planning to support future MI across all Operations. Architecting MI Solutions Governance Champion: Create solutions that strictly match our data governance standards around data quality, interoperability, code version control, data standards, and structures. Quality Assurance: Ensure close collaboration with the Core Tech and Compliance teams to build accurate first-time MI. Automation: Build in automation from trusted data sources using our data governance standards to enhance reliability and efficiency. Thought Leadership: Collaborate with top leadership (Directors and C-suite) in shaping their domains, particularly from an MI perspective. Creation of MI Tooling and Reporting Self-Serve Generation: Drive BI-driven insight generation, KPI tracking, and scorecards for stakeholders at each level of our organisation with the aim of reducing ad-hoc requests and removing redundant MI. Pipeline Management: Oversee the creation of processes that run regularly and require aggregation of multiple data points, to generate reports, dashboards, and visualisations. Provide maintenance and support for these processes, ensuring errors are quickly addressed using monitoring tools such as Dataform or Monte Carlo. Regulatory Reliability: Deliver Regulatory reporting that is accurate, automated, and meets requirements, working in partnership with our central Regulations team to assure quality. Leadership Talent Development: Create a clear development & career path for all analysts in the team with targeted investment in the team’s technical skills. Collaborative Environment: Foster a Collaborative Environment by encouraging open communication, teamwork, and knowledge sharing among team members to leverage diverse perspectives and expertise. Innovation and Adaptability: Promote Innovation and Adaptability by encouraging the team to stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative practices, fostering a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement. Impact Measurement: Measure and Communicate Impact by developing metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the team's output and regularly communicating the value and impact of market intelligence insights to key stakeholders, demonstrating how MI contributes to achieving business objectives. You’ll be a successful Analytics Manager here at OVO if you… Are a proven people leader who can coach, mentor, and strategically develop a team of diverse analytical and technical talent. Are an MI Architect who can translate high-level business problems into well-governed, scalable, and automated data solutions. Excel at senior stakeholder management, comfortable collaborating with Directors and C-Suite to shape their priorities using data-driven thought leadership. Have deep technical literacy across the modern data stack (SQL, cloud data platforms, version control, BI tools like Tableau/Looker Core) to effectively guide a technical team. Are a strategic planner who can build and execute a compelling roadmap for MI delivery, governance, and the future adoption of new tools like AI/ML.
