Job Description
Position Title: Supervisor, Production Job Code: MFG.LDR.M10.05
Location: Skipton – UK
Reports to: Manager
Position Summary
The Supervisor, Production is accountable for setting up day-today operational objectives, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production (i.e., assembly, machining, processing or packing) equipment including: Operating machine tool, chemical processing, assembly, or packaging equipment to manufacture products according to production specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards. Moving, packing, and sorting raw materials or finished goods. Monitoring the quality of output to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products. Maintaining accurate daily production records as input to manufacturing performance analysis and ensure policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.
Essential Functions
* Monitoring production status to ensure timely delivery.
* Executing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual production schedules.
* Ensuring good communication with Technical Team, Tool Building Team and Planning/ Production Teams so all drawings and tools are ready on time as required per production schedule.
* Ensuring all employees are working to set safety procedures at all the times.
* Working closely with safety department and completing assigned tasks in timely manner.
* Ensuring high quality and full traceability of manufactured products where all necessary documentation is completed by Molders.
* Overseeing manufacturing and production processes at all the times to ensure no bottlenecks in the department - prioritizing safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity.
* Leading daily 0Dover meeting and completing 0Dover boards, solving/ escalating problems.
* Following all 0Dover OPEX Excellence procedures and assisting in program development if required.
* Attending 0Dover T2 meetings and any other meetings/ trainings assigned by company as required by business.
* Immediately notifying Planning Team about any delays.
* Identifying delays and adjusting schedules together with Planning Team to meet deadlines.
* Booking components and ensuring sufficient stock as required for production, working closely with Purchasing Team.
* Ensuring resin is being prepared for production, working with resin mixing team.
* Preparing department and presses for production, actively participating in tool changing,
* Reading and understanding work instructions incl. drawings.
* Sustaining manufacturing technologies that continuously improve operational excellence and lead a lean/safety culture.
* Ensuring all policies and protocols are followed by employees working in the department.
* Ensuring sufficient training of Operators.
* Ensuring all packs for components are made on time as required for production. Working closely with Production Manager and other departments managers.
* Actively participating in all projects assigned to department or company.
* Using of hand held tools and power tools.
* Maintaining safe conditions at all the times and ensuring safe work practices are followed at all the times.
* Implementing all company’s procedures and policies.
* Ensuring that all equipment used in the department is properly maintained and operational at all the times.
* Using lifting equipment when required.
* Working at heigh when working with presses.
* Be able to wear all required PPE and work with chemicals due to manufacturing process requirements in the department.
* Assisting during weekends production if required.
Competencies
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Good communication skills (written and verbal).
* Ability to effectively problem-solve, in a fast-paced environment.
* Effective time management and planning.
* Strong organizational skills.
Required Education And Experience
* Experience in similar role would be beneficial however training will be provided.
* Ability to operate all equipment and tools used in the department incl. vacuum lifter, drills, crowbars, hammers, pneumatic staple guns etc. (trainings will be provided).
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
