PROPOSED SALARY RANGE : £28,000 - £32,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Purpose of The Role We're looking for a creative and ambitious Social Media Executive to join the BBC Sounds YouTube and Visualised Podcast team to help deliver 16:9 full-length visualised podcasts across YouTube and on BBC-owned platforms - such as BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer.
You will work alongside our existing YouTube team, Commissioning teams, Production companies and often the presenters themselves to deliver full-length, fully visualised podcast episodes for YouTube to an industry-leading standard.
You'll be part of a collaborative, fast-paced, and innovative environment where best-practice is key, and be part of a friendly and experienced wider social media team working across the BBC.
We are particularly interested in candidates with strong, demonstrable YouTube experience with a passion for podcasts.
Best-practice knowledge across YouTube will be key to this role.

This is an exciting chance to work across the BBC's visualised podcasting presence on YouTube, with 2025's slate including: Game's Gone The Steve Bracknall Podcast, The Traitors Uncloaked, Miss Me?, The Tooney and Russo Show - with many more titles upcoming for YouTube in 2026.
You will be encouraged to bring your creativity, ideas, and passion for YouTube, YouTube best-practice and visualised podcasts working across a variety of titles and genres.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Support across BBC Sounds' 16:9 full length podcast presence on YouTube. This role is likely to be assigned 3-4 titles to lead across.
Support across BBC Sounds' YouTube channel management. This role is likely be assigned 1-3 YouTube channels where successful candidate will be expected to act as channel manager.
Support across BBC Sounds' podcast clip strategy across YouTube.
Co-ordinating and managing delivery of content from internal and external suppliers. This will regularly involve clear, polite feedback and edit notes.
Designing and creating multiple thumbnail options for YouTube video uploads, and support others within the team to do this.
Work collaboratively across YouTube titling options, thumbnail text, metadata, descriptions and YouTube search optimisation.
Work with our YouTube team to demonstrate best-in-class platform knowledge, using and testing YouTube features to support podcast publishing (Premieres, YouTube Hype Chart, previews, thumbnails etc.)
Ensure all content complies with the BBC editorial guidelines, and support teams and suppliers in meeting these standards.
Regularly collaborate with other social teams, podcast commissioners, production companies, presenters and content discovery teams.
Essential Criteria ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
A strong passion for and deep knowledge of the BBC's podcast and radio output. A regular consumer of YouTube content, especially in the podcast space.
Clear communication and organisation skills. This role will involve working collaboratively with multiple internal and external teams and individuals.
Effective organisational skills. This role will involve managing multiple responsibilities, projects and deadlines concurrently.
Confidence to clearly and concisely feedback to external suppliers of content, and manage important non-BBC relationships on a weekly basis.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite with strong video and image editing skills, especially for YouTube Shorts and YouTube 16:9 videos.
Design skills relevant to YouTube thumbnails, and ability to create multiple options at pace.
A strong understanding of visualised podcasting, thumbnail creation/ideation, metadata and SEO across YouTube and Google
Professional experience of community management and moderation.
Working Experience across YouTube in a professional capacity
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Knowledge of social media analytics how best to apply performance insights to content strategy.
Experience of creating visual presentations to communicate performance insights, learnings and recommendations.
Professional experience in the entertainment sector.
Experience in working across content from external creators or agencies.
