An opportunity is available for a Team Manager based at Barnstaple. We are looking for an experienced people manager who can, with our support and mentoring, develop technical knowledge around how we manage and operate an electricity network, repair damaged/faulty electricity lines, take appropriate preventative measures to ensure the 'lights stay on' for our customers, and facilitate new connections.
You will work with the Head of Operations to develop the local business strategy, contribute to the regional business strategy, and lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve success against our targets and goals. You will also, personally and through your teams, deliver a responsive, timely, and professional customer-focused service.

Main Responsibilities
1. Build and maintain a safety culture that enables a safe working environment, validated through site safety inspections.
2. Investigate, report, and take appropriate action following incidents, injuries, property damage, or near misses.
3. Ensure the team delivers high customer service levels and achieves all related performance targets.
4. Engage with customers and stakeholders regarding team activities, process improvements, complaints, and claims.
5. Manage costs efficiently, monitor tasks, and approve expenditure within budget and annual programme.
6. Oversee capital investments, such as customer connection activities, and address variances.
7. Set a clear vision, lead change effectively, and manage the dual responsibility of the network programme and daily operations.
8. Communicate expectations clearly, review progress, and ensure results are delivered.
9. Foster a trusting team environment, support colleagues' well-being, and promote diversity and inclusion.
10. Ensure contractors meet expectations and that team members have necessary facilities and tools.

* Willingness to travel across the South West region and beyond; a full driving license is required.
Qualifications required include Engineering Level 4 or relevant business management qualification, IOSH or equivalent safety qualification, safeguarding, and mental resilience courses. Evidence of relevant qualifications will be required at appointment.
This role is subject to a satisfactory DBS check, with different levels of screening depending on the role.
