We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in East Lancashire to appoint a dedicated and experienced SENDCo to lead and develop their Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision.
This role is to cover an upcoming maternity leave.
This is a key role within the school, offering the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on pupils' outcomes while working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, staff, families, and external agencies.
The Role
As SENDCo, you will:
Lead and manage SEND provision across EYFS to Key Stage 2
Ensure the effective implementation of the SEND Code of Practice
Oversee and coordinate EHCPs, reviews, and graduated response plans
Work collaboratively with teachers, TAs, parents, and external professionals
Monitor, evaluate, and improve SEND outcomes across the school
Provide guidance, training, and support to staff to promote inclusive practice
Report on SEND provision and impact to SLT and GovernorsThe Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is working towards it)
Has proven experience as a Primary SENDCo or substantial SEND leadership experience
Has strong knowledge of EHCP processes and multi-agency working
Is confident leading staff and supporting inclusive classroom practice
Is passionate about championing children with SEND
