The role:
An outstanding opportunity has arisen to become a key member of the Rural Land Management and Consultancy team in St Albans.
The Rural team undertakes a wide range of rural estate, farm, and property management, as well as professional rural advice, working closely with colleagues in our National Estate Agency, Estates & Farms Agency, and Forestry teams. We are expanding the skill sets within the team, particularly in Natural Capital and Rural Diversification.
The role will primarily focus on estate and property management, including:
1. Acting as principal agent/lead asset manager for a key estate management client, reporting to and working closely with senior colleagues.
2. Overseeing day-to-day management of assets and progressing strategic objectives.
3. Providing secured lending and other professional valuations.
4. Coordinating the work of all involved business lines.
5. Contributing to business growth through business development.
6. Ensuring the achievement of key client deliverables.
7. Adhering to internal and client process and compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Managing and leading a high-performing team on the principal instruction.
2. Seeking opportunities to leverage skills and expertise to develop new business for the wider team.
Key Skills:
1. Experience managing a significant portfolio of rural assets, including let farms, residential properties, and other rural assets.
2. Team leadership skills with the ability to manage, delegate, and supervise effectively.
3. Ability to prioritize workloads and work to high standards under pressure.
4. Excellent communication skills capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with team members, colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
5. Ability to contribute to team budgeting and deploy resources effectively and profitably.
6. An entrepreneurial attitude aimed at growing the profile and performance of the business.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
1. MRICS qualification, preferably with a Rural pathway, with 3-5 years PQE.
2. CAAV/SAAVA membership or qualification is an advantage.
