Overview
As a Disability Assessor you will work autonomously to assess the cases of claimants who are applying for Work Capability (WCA), as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). You will complete assessments with individuals who have a broad range of health conditions, and there is the opportunity to conduct some assessments remotely. An in-depth, fully paid training programme is provided, and role activity counts towards clinical hours to uphold your registration.
Responsibilities
* Use your clinical experience to work with people who have a diverse range of health conditions, gaining a clear understanding of how their challenges and the ways their disability affects daily life.
* Work within an office environment and at home to complete detailed, meaningful, and respectful assessments over the telephone, video, or face-to-face.
* Interpret medical evidence and collate findings into a comprehensive report to support the decision-making process by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Requirements
* Applications from Occupational Therapists only for this vacancy.
* HCPC registration is required.
* At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential.
* Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and IT competency.
