LOCATION: Newcastle
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £32,900 - £52,600 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Operator to join the BBC Nations Operations team based in Newcastle.
The ops team works alongside editorial colleagues in Regional TV, Local Radio and Online. We collaborate to produce engaging content and strong local journalism with high operational, craft and production standards, for brands such as BBC Look North, BBC Radio Tees, BBC Radio Cumbria and BBC Radio Newcastle.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
* Newsgathering camera and editing on location: Delivery of crafted news items alongside editorial colleagues ready for transmission
* Office based nonlinear editing: Creating polished news items for local news programmes
* Gallery Skills: Operation of state of the art, automated gallery systems on live and recorded news programmes
* Graphics: Creating graphics for transmission using the latest graphics software
Essential Criteria
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Experienced operation of news gathering equipment, cameras, sound and lighting
* Experience of operating nonlinear editing systems such as FCP or Quantel
* Gallery experience in a live transmission environment such as studio cameras or gallery operations
Desired But Not Required
* Directing news bulletins or longer news programmes
