The Chef will be supporting the Catering Manager in delivering high-quality, home-cooked food for pupils, staff, events, meetings, lettings and school functions, ensuring all activities meet School, Ofsted, Health & Safety and Food Safety standards. Key Responsibilities Deliver all catering requirements including pupil meals, events, meetings and functions. Plan, prepare and cook fresh, home-made food to the standards required by the School and Ofsted. Ensure food from your section is high quality, well-presented and compliant with HACCP procedures. Maintain smooth and efficient running of your section. Control portion sizes and monitor waste. Correctly issue, use and account for supplies; follow stock rotation and assist with stock taking. Contribute to menu planning, including new concepts, food trends and styles of service. Ensure catering staff can communicate allergens and dish contents to students/staff. Supervise shifts when required, ensuring meals meet quality, safety and hygiene legislation. Provide prompt, efficient and customer-focused service, exceeding student expectations. Ensure all food from your section is cooked, presented and served to School standards with innovation. Supervise and train trainee chefs within your section.
