Key Responsibilities:
As an Assembly Operator, you will play a crucial role in the production of cooling systems. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Assembling cooling equipment and components such as heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators, compressors, piping, and fittings, following detailed work instructions, drawings, and bills of materials.
Performing mechanical assembly tasks, including fastening, brazing/soldering, tubing, and sealing, to ensure optimal performance.
Conducting thorough in-process inspections, leak testing, pressure testing, and functional checks to uphold product quality.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and assembly instructions with ease.
Utilising hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively.
Identifying and reporting defects or process issues, actively participating in corrective actions.
Maintaining a clean and organised workspace in line with 5S and safety standards.
Adhering to all safety procedures, quality policies, and standard operating procedures.
Meeting productivity, quality, and delivery targets in our fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Collaborating closely with supervisors, engineers, and quality teams to enhance assembly processes.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
Proven experience as an Assembly Operator or Technician, specifically in cooling or HVAC equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly skills.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and work instructions.
Experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring equipment.
Familiarity with brazing techniques.
Knowledge of safety practices within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
NVQ Level 4 or above is preferred.
Technical certificate or vocational training in mechanical, HVAC, or industrial technology.
F-Gas training would be an advantage.
Experience with refrigeration systems, brazing/soldering, or pressure/leak testing.
Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO or lean manufacturing principles.
Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, or varied schedules as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Capacity to lift and move materials up to 25 Kg.
Manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed assembly work.
Work Environment:
