Job Description
Technical Audit Senior - London
Are you a technically driven audit professional who enjoys solving complex challenges and influencing audit standards across a dynamic firm? A confidential UK-based accountancy and advisory organisation is seeking a Technical Audit Senior to strengthen its audit quality and technical advisory function.
This role is ideal for someone with strong audit experience, a sharp eye for detail, and a passion for evolving accounting standards and regulation.
What You'll Be Doing
This isn't a typical client-facing audit role. As part of a central technical team, your focus will be on raising the quality bar across the audit and accounts practice. You'll act as an internal expert, supporting teams on technical queries and driving best practices across the board.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide advice and support on complex issues relating to UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards.
* Assist with the implementation and effective use of audit and financial reporting tools (e.g., CaseWare, data analytics platforms).
* Monitor developments in financial reporting and auditing regulations, sharing practical insights across the firm.
* Contribute to the creation and delivery of internal training programmes.
* Play a key role in reviewing and enhancing internal processes and methodology.
* Support multi-disciplinary projects, including those related to ESG reporting and regulatory change.
About You
You'll be someone who enjoys the technical side of audit and is comfortable working collaboratively to advise and educate others. Your natural curiosity and commitment to professional excellence make you a go-to resource for others.
We're looking for:
* ACA / ACCA / CA qualified (or equivalent), or part-qualified with relevant experience
* Strong understanding of UK GAAP, FRS 102, IFRS, and International Standards on Auditing
* Confident communicator who can distil complex guidance into clear, practical advice
* Comfortable working across teams and disciplines
* Strong interest in technology, systems, and how they support audit processes
* An enthusiasm for ESG and the evolving landscape of sustainability reporting is a plus
Why This Role?
This is a rare opportunity to step into a technically focused role that touches all areas of the business. You'll have the chance to influence quality, improve systems, and help shape the way the firm adapts to a changing regulatory environment.
What's on offer:
* A collaborative and people-oriented culture
* Strong commitment to ongoing training and career progression
* Competitive benefits including private healthcare, flexible working, and generous leave
* Exposure to international networks and forward-thinking projects
If you're seeking a role that values your technical expertise and gives you the platform to make a real impact across the profession, this could be your next move.
