TitleLegal CounselTitle:  Legal CounselSalary range: Competitive (Depending on experience)Location: Leatherhead, Bristol or Glasgow is preferable but would consider any FNC office for the right candidate. Working Pattern: The Legal Team primarily works remotely with one office day per week, subject to business needs. We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home.  Closing date is 31st December 2025, but we encourage early applications The role We have a rewarding opportunity for an experienced solicitor to join our busy Legal Team. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Legal and provide legal advice and support to the business at all levels and across a broad range of sectors.The Legal Team’s objective is to be a trusted advisor to the business. We are looking for a professional who values teamwork and can offer an ability to provide strong legal advice in a pragmatic and timely way, taking into account the commercial considerations of Frazer-Nash (a KBR company).The Legal Team advises on projects spanning a range of sectors including Defence and Energy. The role of Legal Counsel involves reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements. The ideal candidate will also be involved in advisory work, the preparation of precedent documents and providing legal support for internal projects.We are particularly interested in candidates who have extensive experience advising on legal matters in the energy sector and/or experience of advising on intellectual property matters. Experience of working as part of an in-house team would also be beneficial.Essential RequirementsWhat we are looking forA qualified solicitor with at least 5 years PQE either in private practice or in-house. Experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including supply terms, framework agreements, memorandums of understanding, joint venture agreements and subcontracts. Ability to provide training and guidance to team members and the business on relevant legal developments. Very good written and oral communication and the ability to easily interact with project teams, senior management and external parties. Good ability to work to challenging timeframes and under pressure, handle effectively. Ability to work well independently, coupled with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to participate in a collaborative team environment. Experienced in supporting the training and development of junior team members. Beneficial RequirementsWe would be particularly interested in candidates who have experience in one or more of the following areas:Skilled in providing advice on intellectual property issues including strategic legal guidance on the protection and exploitation of intellectual property, patent applications and a working knowledge of the MOD IP DEFCONs. Experience of advising on contracts within the energy and/or defence sector. Experience of advising on Government Framework Agreements, NEC contracts and MOD DEFCONs Experience of advising on IR35/Off Payroll Working rules. Experience of advising on software development agreements. Experience of advising on the legal aspects of developing and supplying products.
