Role Overview
The UEC/ROC Operations Senior Manager works with the Head of ROC and Head of UEC to manage the delivery of an efficient, effective, and high‑quality Urgent and Emergency Care service that meets all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements. The role also manages the critical path for improving winter performance across the region and supports teams during quieter periods. Employees must be able to work weekends, bank holidays and on a shared rota as part of a 7‑day working team.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide programme management support to promote, enable and ensure delivery of the UEC delivery plan within the local geographical area, coordinating with national, regional and local teams, ICBs/SCCs.
* Provide local leadership and regional subject‑matter expertise in urgent and emergency care and/or change and transformation, maintaining a local focus for delivery and a regional focus for key programme areas.
* Manage the local delivery function for the UEC national priority, responding to all requests for information from the national team in a timely manner, designing and implementing processes to coordinate information from networks and ICBs/SCCs, and providing advice and guidance.
* Maintain a clear overview of a portfolio of UEC implementation issues locally, ensuring senior management and the local tripartite group receive timely accurate information for decision making, in collaboration with analytics teams and ICBs/SCCS.
* Work with managers within the regional programme team and across other priority programmes to ensure consistency of approach, share learning, and provide tools to support effective programme management.
* Participate in EPRR on‑call rotas when required.
