Overview
ENT Registrar required at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to support expanding ENT services. The role is primarily elective and part of a dynamic and expanding department.
Responsibilities
* Maintain high standards of care to patients and contribute to the proper functioning of the department.
* Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care and the effective running of clinics.
* Participate fully in medical audit arrangements.
* Support the professional development of other trainees and allied health professional colleagues.
* Engage in all aspects of professional practice, including annual appraisal, job planning and reviews of performance and progression.
* Start date: as soon as possible.

Job Description
There are outpatient and surgical ENT services for adult and paediatric patients. The job plan includes clinics in these areas with dedicated time for Emergency Department referrals; urgent ENT patients are seen as required.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Essential: MRCS or equivalent.
* Desirable: DOHNS or FRCS ENT or equivalent.
Registration
* Essential: Registered on GMC register or hold a license to practice.
* Desirable: Experience in a similar role.
Knowledge and Expertise
* Desirable: NHS experience in the last 3 years.
Management and Audit
* Essential: Understanding the principles of clinical governance and its implications.
* Essential: Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
* Essential: Understanding and experience of audit.
Research/Publications
* Essential: Knowledge of research methodology.
* Essential: Evidence of ongoing interest and achievement in research.
Personal Skills
* Ability to liaise with external parties and take accountability, lead, make decisions and exert appropriate authority.
* Clear and effective written and spoken English.
* Understanding of finance and budget implications.
* Commitment to delivering a high-quality service with patient welfare at the forefront.
