The Project Surveyor will play a key role in delivering capital works and component renewal projects across our housing portfolio. Working closely with the Project Manager and external contractors, you will help ensure that all project works are completed efficiently, to the highest standards, and in full compliance with relevant regulations. You will be involved in planning, coordinating, and overseeing the day-to-day progress of these works, ensuring that they meet agreed timelines and budgets. The role involves working within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality asset services that maintain FCHO properties in good repair, ensuring value for money, efficiency, and compliance with legislation. You will be monitoring both internal and external contractors, including our direct labour organisation, to ensure they meet service standards and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction. A specific portfolio will be assigned, which could include areas such as Capital Works, Component Renewal, stock condition surveys, commercial premises, energy performance, asset performance, and adaptations, based on their experience and skill set. You will be responsible for supporting the planning, scheduling, and coordination of Major Investment projects from start to finish. Our ideal candidate: Has a full UK driving licence HND Building Studies (or equivalent) Proven experience managing contractors, construction projects, budgets, surveys, and customer engagement. Skilled in overseeing repair works and contractor coordination. Knowledge of construction-related health & safety regulations (e.g., CDM, gas safety). Basic understanding of building repairs, regulations, and H&S standards; familiarity with social housing, HHSRS, and Decent Homes is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues early and escalate when needed. Collaborative team player with a customer-focused mindset. Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal, with tenants, contractors, and colleagues. Key Responsibilities Coordinate with contractors to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery. Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with schedules, regulations, and quality standards. Serve as main tenant contact for Capital Investment works, providing updates and addressing concerns. Maintain accurate project records, including plans, budgets, timelines, and compliance data. Support senior management with project reporting. Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to align on project goals and ensure smooth delivery. Monitor on-site health and safety compliance and report issues promptly.
