About the Role
Milk Education is working in partnership with a network of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Wakefield and South Leeds. We are currently seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring a love of literature, language and learning.
This opportunity is ideal for ECTs, experienced teachers, or supply teachers looking for flexible, short-term or long-term roles. You’ll be joining schools with strong English departments and supportive leadership teams, where high expectations and student progress are a priority.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (Language and Literature)
Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
Create a positive, inclusive and purposeful learning environment
Effectively manage classroom behaviour and maintain high standards
Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to students
Work collaboratively with departmental and wider school teams
Uphold safeguarding policies and school procedures at all times
About You
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or are working towards it (ECTs welcome)
Strong subject knowledge in English
Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
A passion for raising attainment and engaging young people
Flexibility and adaptability across different school settings
