About the role The post holder will lead on providing an ecological and nature conservation service with the Council, to other partners and to the public, manage and co-ordinate Ecology services to the Council and to external bodies and contacts, including the continuing development of an ecological database. To provide a comprehensive and professional ecological advisory service to the Planning Department in respect of planning applications, development briefs, supplementary planning guidance and other consultations, including provision of ecological advice, opinion and recommendations to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and policy. To provide a comprehensive and professional ecological advisory service to all sections of the Council and externally, including the provision of site-specific ecological management recommendations for land management of Council owned sites and the preparation of Cabinet reports and guidance documents as required. About you You will need: Experience in ecological field assessment. Knowledge of LA working systems and the planning process. Degree or post-graduate qualification in ecology or other appropriate discipline. The ability to prepare reports and record ecological data on relevant recording systems.
