Overview

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Multi-Skilled Building Services Technician to support our clients across a range of facilities management contracts. This mobile role involves attending multiple client sites to deliver both reactive maintenance tasks and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities, ensuring high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.

In addition to completing works, the technician will play an active role in identifying additional service opportunities that can be quoted and delivered, helping to support organic contract growth and contribute to the operational team's sales targets. When not on site, the role will be based at our Milton Keynes head office, providing administrative support, completing paperwork, and assisting the wider operational team.

Key Responsibilities

Reactive & Planned Maintenance

* Attend multiple client sites to diagnose and resolve reactive maintenance issues in an efficient and professional manner.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks across building services, ensuring statutory compliance and high standards of delivery.
* Undertake general building fabric repairs, minor electrical works (as applicable), plumbing tasks, carpentry, and other multi-trade duties.
* Ensure all works are completed safely, to specification, and within agreed SLAs.

Customer Service & On-Site Conduct

* Act as a company ambassador when visiting client sites, providing excellent customer service and maintaining professional standards at all times.
* Communicate clearly with clients regarding works completed, additional findings, and any recommendations.

Commercial Awareness & Growth Contribution

* Proactively identify opportunities for additional works or service improvements while on client sites.
* Provide clear information, photos, and descriptions to support the preparation of quotations by the operational team.
* Understand how additional services contribute to sales targets and contract growth, supporting the organisation's commercial objectives.

Reporting & Administration

* Complete electronic job sheets, risk assessments, and compliance documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
* When not attending site, be based at the Milton Keynes office to assist with:
* Updating paperwork and maintenance records
* Preparing materials or equipment for upcoming jobs
* Supporting the operational team with general administrative tasks

Health, Safety & Compliance

* Work in line with company policies, industry standards, and UK health and safety regulations.
* Ensure safe systems of work, including effective use of PPE, risk assessments, and method statements.

Skills & Experience Required

* Previous experience in a building maintenance, facilities technician, multi-skilled trade, or mobile FM role.
* Competent in a range of building fabric trades (e.g., basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating, minor electrical tasks).
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose faults quickly and effectively.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage a mobile schedule efficiently.
* Good IT skills and familiarity with digital job management systems.
* Full UK driving licence (essential).

Qualifications

* Trade qualifications or NVQs desirable but not essential for the right multi-skilled candidate.
* Health and safety training (e.g., CSCS, asbestos awareness) beneficial.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
