As part of our continued growth, we’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our close-knit and supportive team at Glebedale School, based in Stoke-on-Trent.

About the Role
You’ll work closely with teachers to provide tailored support for individual pupils and small groups. Your role will include:
1. Working 1:1 with pupils, providing tailored support to meet their individual learning and emotional needs
2. Supporting pupils across a broad and balanced curriculum
3. Assisting in the development and delivery of individual educational or behaviour programmes
4. Preparing and organising classroom materials and learning resources
5. Supporting the class teacher in managing classroom activities
6. Promoting the emotional and social development of pupils through positive and proactive engagement
7. Recording and reporting pupil progress in line with agreed procedures
8. Occasionally accompanying and transporting pupils on educational visits or journeys home
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for someone who is patient, flexible, and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs—particularly those who require 1:1 attention.
9. GCSE Grade C / Level 4 or above in Maths and English
10. Previous experience working in a school or with children/young people (highly desirable)
11. Experience supporting pupils with additional needs, particularly in a 1:1 setting
12. A compassionate and calm approach to behaviour support
13. Strong communication and teamwork skills
14. A willingness to be hands-on and flexible, including assisting with transport if needed

Glebedale School is a special needs school which provides provision for ages 7 years and upwards. We provide a nurturing and welcoming environment to SEMH pupils, and our curriculum has a keen focus on therapy, education and personal development. Our school aims to help pupils grow academically, socially and emotionally to enable them to become capable future citizens.
We provide education to 30 pupils from the Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire areas. At our last Ofsted in December 2022, we were rated “Good”.
