We are looking for a commercially astute and proactive National Account Manager to lead and grow a strategically important retail account, with a primary focus on chilled food. This role sits at the heart of a fast-paced, dynamic food business and offers a strong platform for someone who thrives on ownership, has a hands-on mindset, and excels in managing complex UK retail relationships.
You’ll be responsible for both the daily performance and long-term development of the account, playing a key role in shaping commercial strategy and ensuring execution excellence. It’s a high-visibility role with real influence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the full commercial relationship with a key UK retail customer, ensuring effective day-to-day delivery while building a robust medium-to-long-term strategy
* Oversee pricing, forecasting, promotions, customer admin and commercial performance tracking
* Take a leading role in regular customer communications, both operational and strategic
* Collaborate closely with processors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure aligned priorities and high service levels
* Use commercial data and category insight to drive margin improvements, category growth and promotional success
* Contribute to business planning, innovation, and demand forecasting alongside NPD and operations teams
* Build strong, trust-based relationships with retail buying teams, becoming a go-to commercial partner
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience managing retail accounts, ideally Tesco or another Top 4 UK retailer
* Strong understanding of meat or protein categories (such as poultry, fish, chilled or frozen)
* Solid commercial judgement, with experience of pricing, forecasting and P&L ownership
* Resilient and adaptable, comfortable in fast-moving environments where no two days are the same
* A natural collaborator with strong supplier management experience and an understanding of supply chain pressures
* Excellent analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to turn data into clear commercial action
