Lifelong Learning Library Adviser – Fixed term until 30/06/2026
Salary: £26,337 - £28,835 (pro-rata for part-time). Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks. Posts are shift working and include some Saturdays and evenings. Work patterns are outlined below.
Key responsibilities
* Deliver excellent customer service and understand the needs of different parts of the community.
* Support users to develop digital skills and provide information and advice.
* Engage with young people, maintain a positive, safe and trusted environment, and support young people through programmes such as Bookbug, Read, Write Count.
* Provide a full range of books and other resources to help everyone live, learn and work.
* Work across any library in the city.
Qualifications and experience
* Experience with regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007; PVG Scheme membership required.
* Any youth engagement experience welcomed.
Working patterns
36 hours per week—rotating shift pattern (fortnightly rotation). Saturday shift included every 3 weeks. 52 weeks per year.
