The Opportunity
Were looking for a Marketing & Audience Development Specialist an energetic, strategic, and hands-on marketer who can make sure every CCP event finds its audience.
This is a rare opportunity to own audience growth and engagement across a diverse programme of live events, working directly with producers, venues, and partners to ensure our shows are full whether thats 200 seats in a regional arts theatre or 2,000 in a West End auditorium.
Youll design and deliver smart, data-driven, and locally resonant campaigns that bring new audiences into the world of live spoken-word events.
What Youll Do:
* Develop and execute tailored marketing and audience development plans for each event.
* Work closely with theatres and venues to coordinate local marketing efforts and maximise ticket sales.
* Identify and target audience segments by speaker genre, geography, and interest area.
* Manage paid and organic campaigns across digital channels (Meta, Google, email, SEO, partnerships).
* Engage universities, community groups, and interest networks to reach new audiences.
* Track campaign performance, measure ROI, and report on ticketing outcomes.
* Experiment with creative audience outreach ideas that fill venues and build long-term loyalty.
About You
Youre an ambitious, resourceful marketer with a flair for connecting people to ideas. You may have 13 years experience in marketing, events, or audience engagement - perhaps from an agency, cultural venue, or consumer brand - and youre now looking for a role where you can have an outsized impact on the business.
Youll thrive in this role if you:
* Have a generalist marketing skill set and enjoy running campaigns end-to-end.
* Understand how to reach and convert audiences across multiple channels.
* Love data, insights, and creative problem-solving in equal measure.
* Have genuine enthusiasm for live events, culture, and the arts.
* Are comfortable working independently and remotely within a small, collaborative team.
* Can balance creative thinking with clear, results-driven delivery.
Tools & Platforms
You dont need to know them all on day one, but confidence in learning new tools is essential.
* Social media & ads: Meta Business Suite, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Google Ads
* Design & content: Canva, Adobe Express, or similar quick-turn design tools
* Email & CRM: Mailchimp (for campaigns), basic list segmentation and automation
* Web & SEO: WordPress (or similar CMS), Google Analytics, basic SEO principles
* Collaboration: Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Meet), Trello or Airtable for project tracking
* Ticketing & data: familiarity with theatre box office systems, Spektrix, or the ability to interpret box office reports
* Scheduling & automation: SocialPilot, Buffer, or similar social scheduling platforms

* Freelance retainer: 2,500/month for the first 3 months, rising to 3,500/month post-probation.
