An exciting opportunity has become available in our medical, surgical & care of the elderly wards for newly registered nurses. This is a chance for the successful candidate to not only contribute to the exceptional care we provide to patients but also consolidated the skills and knowledge from their training.

Main duties of the job
Exciting opportunities exist to join our teams as a registered nurse working across the medical, surgical & care of the elderly wards. Working long day/night shifts & as part of the multidisciplinary team, to deliver the highest quality care to our patients, in line with our trust values

As an accountable registered nurse, you will be responsible for delivering excellent care to an allocated group of patients providing total patient care.

Clinical duties include acute and chronic medical care, managing deteriorating patients, wound management, pain management, diabetes management, health promotion, patient education, complex discharge planning, sepsis treatment, end of life care, dementia and delirium care.

We offer a variety of bank shifts both days, nights and weekends across all our sites with competitive hourly rates. Our long day and night shift are paid at 11.5 hours.

* Evidence of recent and ongoing professional development

* Post qualification in relevant speciality
* Recognized teaching or mentorship qualification or working towards

* Post registration experience working in an acute hospital setting
* Awareness of current professional nursing issues
* Demonstrates sound knowledge of infection control standards
* Demonstrates understanding of the importance of audit/quality

* Proven communication skills and ability to negotiate
* Skilled in use of computer/key board
* Ability to supervise registered and unregistered staff
