Overview
Field Engineer responsible for installing, maintaining and removing battery-operated security solutions for clients across construction, energy, utilities, rail, retail, government, law enforcement and vacant property sectors. The role ensures functionality, reliability, and customer satisfaction through effective maintenance, technical support, and problem‑solving.
Responsibilities
* Installation and commissioning of security solutions
* Communicate with site managers and DeterTech ARC to ensure all information is passed on successfully
* Maintain deployed sites through battery maintenance, camera re‑configuration, cleaning and servicing
* Ensure a low chance of false triggers during installation and maintenance
* Prepare all equipment, parts and spares for appointments in your business vehicle
* Deploy, position and secure equipment on site
* Fit, display and remove company signage around installation sites
* Conduct thorough quality checks after repairs and maintenance to meet safety and performance standards
* Respond promptly to customer inquiries and service requests regarding equipment issues
* Remove off‑hire equipment and pack it safely into the company vehicle
* Train customers and end‑users on proper operation, maintenance and safety protocols of equipment
* Conduct workshops and training sessions to enhance customer knowledge
* Analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions to restore equipment functionality
* Collaborate with engineering and design teams to address recurring problems and improve equipment design
* Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with clients
Professional experience and qualifications
* 3+ years hands‑on experience in a field engineer role or similar
* Experience in telecoms, satellite, electronics, gas and electrics or an engineering background preferred
* Full UK driving licence required
* CSCS training and H&S training desirable
* Knowledge of wiring, electronics, soldering and experience in alarm installations desirable but not essential
