Vocational Skills Practitioner (Technician) - Part-Time
Location: East Sussex
Salary: Competitive (Details upon application)
Job Type: Part-time (18 hours across Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Duration: Ongoing cover, initially until May half term
We are seeking a Vocational Skills Practitioner, preferably specialising in Electrical fields, though candidates with expertise in other trade specialties such as construction, plumbing, or carpentry are also encouraged to apply. This role is crucial in supporting the delivery of vocational trades and professional courses at our Eastbourne campus.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
Assist lecturers in preparing and organizing training materials and resources to support learner achievement.
Conduct coaching, learning workshops, and small group tutoring under lecturer supervision.
Provide technical support in workshop activities, ensuring effective delivery of sessions.
Prepare and demonstrate practical tasks and processes to enhance the learner experience.
Manage and maintain equipment and materials, ensuring workshops and learning environments are suitably equipped.
Uphold high standards of safety and cleanliness in all working environments.
Actively participate in the organization of college functions such as art shows, awards evenings, and open days.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Relevant academic or vocational qualification at least to level 3.
Degree or equivalent qualification related to the post is desirable.
Certifications such as PTLLS or CTLLS are advantageous.
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team within a teaching and learning strategy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum to be supported and all relevant Health and Safety regulations.
