Heating Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a Heating Engineer to install air source heat pumps, hot water cylinders, radiators, and underfloor heating across homes in the South West region, including Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, and Dorset, covering the M5 corridor.
Responsibilities include:
1. Delivering air source or ground source installations to MCS standards weekly.
2. Liaising with clients to agree on installation approaches.
3. Commissioning systems to brand and MCS standards.
4. Carrying out small works and repairs as needed, maintaining CSCS cards and HSE training.
5. Participating in manufacturer training sessions.
6. Scheduling jobs via tablet and preparing vans on Mondays.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years of domestic plumbing and heating experience, including heat pumps (senior level), with 3 years for mates and apprentices studying for Level 3.
* Full UK driver’s license.
* Level 3 plumbing & heating (senior engineers), Level 2 plumbing (mates).
* G3 Unvented certification, WRAS preferred.
* Gas Safe registration (not essential).
* Ability to use initiative and adapt to varied workloads.
* Experience with air source heat pumps.
Compensation and Benefits:
* £13-£15 per hour, depending on experience.
* Working hours: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week).
