Seven Resourcing are currently seeking an Accountant to work for Rutland Council. This is a full time position and we are paying £25.33 per hour for this role.
The role:
To provide accounting support to the finance team. This includes assisting with the co-ordination of preparation of budgets, budgetary and the preparation of annual accounts. To support the head of finance to improve existing processes and controls, strengthen governance and continually improve the quality of information used to support the councils decision making. Progression through different stages of the career grade, will include an increase in the responsibilities and expectation’s.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting basic financial analysis, including cost analysis and variance analysis.
* Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
* Participating in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
* Assisting in maintaining internal control procedure to ensure financial integrity.
* Handling Complex account reconciliations.
Applicant Requirements:
* Qualifications: GCSEs A-C or equivalent including at least English and Maths. Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience
* Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
* Compliance: Current Standard DBS check.
* Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
* Hours: 37 hours p/w.
