New Directions Education is currently recruiting resilient and committed Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants to work in a specialist school in South Liverpool. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in a structured and nurturing environment.

3. Facilities include safe breakout spaces, sensory rooms, and on-site therapeutic support services.
The Role:
4. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils who display challenging behaviour or require emotional regulation strategies.
5. Work closely with class teachers and behaviour leads to implement behaviour support plans and de-escalation techniques.
6. Support pupils in building positive relationships, improving engagement, and developing coping strategies within the classroom setting.
7. Help to manage transitions, maintain consistent routines, and encourage a positive and respectful learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
8. Calm, confident, and compassionate, with the ability to build trust and rapport with pupils who may display distressed or disruptive behaviour.
9. Previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs, in either education, youth work, care, or similar roles is highly desirable.
10. Willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service if not already completed.
11. Able to provide references covering the last 5 years.
