Cyber Security Engineer
As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will work on complex systems provided by Thales, providing specialist security architecture, technical understanding, and guidance to enable Thales to devise, develop, and maintain reliable, secure, accreditable, and economically sustainable security solutions to meet project needs.
Your advice on the development of security-compliant system architectures and contribution to the design of preliminary and detailed designs are key. This includes studying alternatives and conducting risk assessments.
You will join a growing team of specialist engineers and architects to provide the right security solutions to meet customer requirements.
Key responsibilities:
1. Identify and analyze threats, vulnerabilities, and unwanted security consequences, maintaining their traceability to security requirements.
2. Ensure that security requirements are recorded, included, and tracked throughout the project/product development.
3. Maintain logs and traceability of security requirements to security controls and assurance evidence.
4. Gather and configure evidence necessary to complete the Security Case.
5. Justify security control choices.
6. Create reports and artifacts to support the security case, including deliverables.
7. Review observations and reports from users or maintainers and define corrective actions to maintain the security case where necessary.
8. Ensure technical coordination across a multidisciplinary team.
We are looking for:
1. Ideally, you have worked as a Cyber Security Engineer within Defence (Air/Land/Naval), Nuclear, Government, Aerospace, CNI, or Transport sectors.
2. Experience in defining system security controls independently or with specialists.
3. Proficiency in Infrastructure Security Design, including Network Security, Cryptography, Identity & Access Management, Endpoint Protection, Cloud Technologies, and Protective Monitoring.
4. Confidence in advising and supporting team members.
5. Proficiency with Risk Assessment tools and methodologies across various industry sectors.
6. In-depth knowledge of industry-standard frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIS-2, JSPs, MITRE.
7. Experience implementing Secure by Design principles.
Desirable:
Graduation in Engineering or Computer Science, or relevant industry certifications (CISSP, Cisco, CCP, etc.), Risk Management, and Accreditation, Systems Design Lifecycles, Embedded Systems Design experience.
